We all know how far away Spidey 2 is, but it's always nice to get the heads up before most other people. Dunno if this true or not, but it's a nice little story....if a little disturbing.

Robin Williams is a top notch actor. But he brings along with him considerable baggage..............as to what he will agree to be associated with in a movie.

And as much as I LOVE Robin Williams (His new movie Insomnia looks amazing)......I feel that huge top notch actors such as himself would just be typecast as a badguy. (kinda like Arnold in Batman)
I would much rather a virtual unknown actor to do the part. When you look at peope like Robin, you can't help but sit there and picture them in all their other roles. (Spiderman fighting Mrs. Doubtfire......ewwwww) |

That's why he'd be great. He is a very talented actor, and it would give him a wonderful chance to do a different role. He's playing a psycho killer in Insomnia, and he was an excellent robot. I would love to see him in this role.

I saw Insomnia. It was a very well-made movie, and Williams was awesome. I seriously think that movie is going to win an Oscar or two.
Williams is a very talented actor, and conveys his characters very well. I think he would be an excellent Doc Ock. I am not really worried about the actor. I am more worried about the story itself. In the Batman movies, the villains are so over-the-top and unrealistic. They did a great job with GG, showing a terrific depth of character. I hope they intend to continue this with future villains. If so, then Williams will probably be able to give us a VERY convincing Doctor Octopus. |
